I explored anorexia as my specific topic
for this work. I wanted to present anorexia in a way that it wasn’t about the
obvious issue, which is the eating disorder. But what could provoke that? It is
not always being overweight that makes teenagers in particular, ricochet into a
mental disorder but feeling not good enough. Family issues, not having friends
and failing school are just a couple of the things that can trigger it, which
then leads to the idea that what size you wear determines your self-worth.
This piece is two illustrations on a
concertina made from illustration board.
