‘The Flight of Beauty’ is a series of
photographs that focus around the concept of ‘Hybridx2’. The connection between animals and
humans has long been considered an interwoven subject matter. From stories of
the mermaids to the mystery of the phoenix, the idea of animals and humans
being joined together has created interest and captured audience’s attention
for centuries. These photographs explore the interconnection of the ‘bird’ and
the ‘human species’ to create an ‘angelic’ interpretation. The images portray
the life sized wings of pure white colour and are interlinked with stark dark
tones which immediately makes the reality of this hybrid all the more real.
