“I feel I’m anonymous in my work.  When I look at the pictures, I never see myself; they aren’t self-portraits.  Sometimes I disappear.”  Cindy Sherman.
Through my work I want to portray the changing roles of women though history. This artwork was modelled on the Pre-Raphaelite movement.  Their style is characterised by a conscious striving for beauty, existential themes and moral seriousness. Women were often submissive, modest or goddess.  In using myself as the model, I try to recreate and be honest to the values of the era.
