“Stationary Flow”
Manipulated digital photographs

The focus for my work is to portray the flow of movement through static photographs.  The range of skate boarding movement in the foreground is contrasted with the solid static image of the background. This artwork was created in response to the concept of Time and Place and explores the idea of ‘place’ as permanence and ‘time’ as fleeting. I was also playing with the idea that the various individual figures captured in photographs move beyond the instant in which the shot was taken, to become a part of a continuum which conveys the single skating movement or trick, although the place in which this occurs remains the same.
