“You’re in De’ Nile – 2012.”
Mixed Media Light Box
In my early days of schooling, Ancient
Egypt was all about hidden traps, cursed tombs and hoards of lost treasure
buried beneath sweltering sands. Ancient Egypt was the best way for me to
visually carve the face of a simplified, technological timeline. The global
icon, Apple, which glows upon the lid of the Macintosh laptop, inspired me to
incorporate the idea of the light that emits from the hieroglyphics. Inscribed
upon the fictional tablet is a brief series of ‘timelines of technology.’
Through time, technologies (whether it’s food or shelter) humans use to create
their own lifestyles, perpetually evolves.
