My artwork was greatly influenced by
works of other domestic violence artworks as well as the artworks seen on One
Tree Hill by Peyton Sawyer, where her artwork depicts confronting subject
matter with the colour scheme of black, red, white and cream; the same colours
used in my artwork.
The concepts that I wanted to use
throughout my artwork were the idea of the abuser instead of the abused person.
Showing what the abuser goes through to get to the stage of hurting someone
they love or know. I wanted to depict the fact that one in three abused
children will become an abuser; how the cycle of abusers continues.
