“Digital Composition”
Superficial is a digital composition as a part of a series based on my personal interpretation of surrealist portraitures with the theme of ‘Superficiality in the Media’. As an artist, I explored the surrealist theme through my own grotesque interpretation. Superficial attempts to symbolise the manipulation of artists and celebrities in the media. The subject, symbolising a celebrity, is being suspended like a marionette, representing the manipulation as though they’re puppets for the media and companies. Her face is covered by a mask, as though her voice and opinion is being muffled so it’s unable to be heard.
